Ayaan Hirsi Ali is leaving Holland and quiting parliament. The controversial Dutch MP falsified her name and date of birth on her asylum application when she arrived in 1992, fearing reprisals from her family after she fled an arranged marriage.

The greatest Footballer ever?

With the Football World Cup, the biggest single sporting event in the world, beginning in less than 30 days, maybe it’s time to briefly look at the greatest footballer of all.
Most people when you ask them would say Pele. The complete player! Undoubtably he is in the top 5 of every list. Another player who mesmirised the world game was Diego Maradona in the 80’s and early 90’s.
Then many people would say Franz Beckenbauer. The elegant german player who invented the position of “libero” or sweeper. Graceful and some say perfect. He is still the only World Champion player and couch.
Then people could say Johann Cruyf - the dutch master. Or maybe Zinedine Zidane (my favorite) or currently Ronaldinho?
All great players without doubt, but what about Arthur Friedenreich. WHO, you ask?

The One Show Pencil awards were held last week in New York, basically this is an event that recognises and gives kudos to all those wonderful examples of creative excellence in print, television, radio, outdoor, innovative media and marketing, and more recently, integrated branding. Each year, an international jury of award-winning art directors, copywriters and creative directors, judge a wide variety of work, entered by a wide variety of places, from multinational advertising giants to small regional shops.
Why this is of particular interest to me this year is that the Boonanza campaign spearheaded by George Patterson Y&R with involvement from Accure won a silver pencil!!! Check out carpark at Accure.
