The expressionist within
27
September

I came across a very cool website today via Design Sojourn, but before I go any further into pointing you in the exact direction, I wanted to know if any of our readers are artists and could recognise the two paintings above.
Well, if you identifed the bottom painting as “Convergence” by Jackson Pollock in 1947, you’re entirely correct. The work and the artist was part of the abstract expressionist movement of the 20th century. If you want to learn more about it, check out the Wiki.
Now if you couldn’t quite put your finger on who did the top painting, you’re not alone. That’s because it was done today 27th September 2006 by none other than myself. I call it “Convergence Culture” and it represents what the web has turned into….a collosal blob of randomness and chaos that amazingly works.
It took me no more than 5 minutes and my muse - the blogosphere. Enjoy it, if there are any collectors out there wanting a piece of this baby, we’re taking bids here at beezhouse - This is “no reserve” auction people so get in quick. (somehow I get the feeling I won’t be able to give it away)
Alternatively, you can create your own 21st century masterpiece at Jackson Pollock. This is a very neat piece of Flash (Thanks Design Translator!), just click for a new colour and refresh for a new canvas. Go silly!
